Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Guys on 3873 kHz AM at 0005 UTC are talking about the music guy from last night playing In-A-Gaga-Da-Vida. Only a short bit of talk about it though, back to other topics shortly.

Makes sense. Lots of AM QSO activity tonight (three 80 meters frequencies active). The AM Rally starts tomorrow at 0000 UTC.

Here is a bit of interesting information:

When I heard the guy playing music I noticed a fairly loud hum in the signal audible between songs. I often listen to the AM Window and I decided to have a listen for anyone with a signal that sounds like that. Today a guy has been talking for several hours with a similar buzzy signal that drifts a bit. I made a recording of him talking and imported it into Audacity along with the recording of the music station from January 30. I looked at the plot spectrum of both recordings and that low frequency buzz is an exact match between both stations. I now know the call sign of the person playing the music. I am obviously not going to say it because I enjoyed hearing the music, but it just goes to show how easy it was to figure it out.

If you listen to SW pirates, the voice is a dead giveaway to who is who in the Ham bands. You'll find a lot of them on 40 meters. "Hey! Is that Dr. Poop n' Scoop on 7237.5?"

Those guy's on 75 will give him the business about that hum in his audio chain after the rally. They all know each other. "Strapping Signal, OM, but that hum has got to go!"
