Cool AM Radio via NAPRS (TEST) 6980 AM 0027 UTC 5 FEB 2023
« on: February 05, 2023, 0027 UTC »
0027 UTC S9 carrier with some very undermodulated music here.
0028 UTC Modulation much better now with "Roadhouse Blues"-The Doors  8)
0033 UTC OM with an advertisement for Unisex stereo? Sounds like a commercial station.
0034 UTC OM said something about "Brought to you by UAI Upper Atmosphere Ionization"?, into unid funky pop tune OM singer
0036 UTC Silence, but the S9 carrier is still on
0038 UTC "Cool AM" ID, into an instrumental version of a song...more ID's as Cool AM Radio
0041 UTC "Karn Evil 9"-ELP

Here's my recording from 0027-0041 UTC:

The Doors as of 0032 UTC -- fair signal at PA SDR
But sounds like a an AM station -- heard commercial at 0033.
Then male mentions "upper ionization"
"This is COOL AM Radio"

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Kenwood TS-570D with a 40 meter band Inverted V.

Same as the rest of the folks, S-9 carrier and under modulated audio on a Westminster, MD Kiwi SDR. Sound like good production skills when I can hear it.

And same here. S9 signal strength but way undermodulated and seems too much low end audio boost. I've heard Cool AM sound much better in the past. Good programming too.

"Unisex Stereo" ad "Where the phonograph needle is free". We need to get down there now!

Signal is starting to fade but it sounds like the old punk classic "Everyone's Got Nice Stuff But Me."
