8900 KHz USB ???? (Aircraft)
« on: May 15, 2023, 2139 UTC »
I picked this frequency up when listening to other aircraft, and was wondering if any one had any idea who uses this frequency.
8900 KHz USB, sounded like a ground station, talking to an aircraft.

The ground station sounded very nice and clear. The accent sounded American English and it appeared as the aircraft was flying through Halifax and St John (Canada). The call sign(s) I heard in the recording were 7B3 JBQ.

Klingenfuss has the frequency listed as Aeronautical Mobile Service.

Hi Steve,

Good catch. It's a new one for me as well. With most major carriers now using sat phones company traffic on HF has become sparse.
