SDRuno Cloud Marker plugin
« on: February 15, 2022, 1653 UTC »
Anyone use the Cloud Marker plugin for SDRuno? If so, how do you get it to sync with the database?
I press sync, it does something for half a second, then nothing. I've yet to see anyone's markers.

Well, I gave it a try ... with mix results. The first time I ran the plug-in it downloaded 100% then crashed SDRuno. 2 plus years of using SDRuno and I have never crashed it. Go figure. I then tried it again a second time and it worked. To be honest though, I am not sure how to use it. The screen seems to update as you tune up / down the frequency. If you click on one of the entries it gives details and puts a marker in the spectrum display.

Once it compiles the database from the download, it creates the SDRunoPlugin_CloudMarkers.db file where the plug-in is installed. This is an SQLite database.

I think the FRAN plug-in does a much better job ... but visually it is a mess unless the spectrum window is set to be large in size.

Note: I just played with it a little more and there is no "Pirate" category. Booo. I just blew away "Outhouse Radio" for everyone. It should now read "This is Zeeky's Channel" --- moo ha ha.

I'm not sure what the hell I'm doing wrong. Fran is cool but cluttered, and DX Toolbox is awesome of course, but I thought it'd be cool to see what others--like yourself--thought of strange signals and see what you thought they were.
I've managed to crash SDRuno a few times with the Audio Recorder. Which isn't a "Community Plugin", it's one of their own if I'm not mistaken. It would just seize up. Been okay since. But I mainly just do IQ recordings now. Play 'em back and send them into Audition.

I'll sort it out eventually. And I'll check out "Zeeky's Channel"  :D

I think I'm finally good!
I reinstalled the plugin, started it, and sure enough, SDRuno crashed. Restarted it, synced and loaded (for the first time) whatever it needed.

Zeeky! Good job. That's too funny.  ;D

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Excellent. The Zeeky ref is from one of his shows a few days ago when he was ranting about the Peskies on LSB and then the "jammer" which has been jamming his shows.

Okay, now I'm loading the plugin, but the interface/control isn't showing up. It shows as just a blank, white, box on the task bar, but it won't maximize. Some markers are showing in the spectrum display, but I can't control them.  ???

Computers is fun.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch: It's something I'm doing wrong, I'm sure. Not closing them down right ot something. I figured "Unload All Plugins" covered it. Maybe not.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, again: This plugin is a pain in the arse. And I just remembered that you can have DX Toolbox annotate, so, think I'm done with Cloudy Markers.
