That music you list is Romanian.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Lots of ethnic minorities in Myanmar. I wonder how the Romanian's got into the mix? Must have been in the 50's when Mao was giving Burma some assistance and Romanian volunteers decided they liked the climate and the good looking women. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I am thinking this may have been Radio Romania International. All the schedules changed to summer on March 26 so most of the schedules online are wrong now.

Vey weak on a KiwiSDR in India but S9+40 on a KiwiSDR in the UK. Language is definitely not Burmese.

How dare you doubt a man in fine looking hat like that? I've got one of it's relatives in a hat box in my closet.

What you actually heard was the Radio Romania International romanian language service from 0000-0200UTC beaming to the east coast of North America. It is in A23 data.

Well, then either I heard what I  thought was a clear Myanmar ID or I was experiencing  1971 Orange Sunshine flashback.
Either way, thanks for the info, Guys.  :)

Agreed, the music is unusual and Myanmar Radio is a very difficult catch. I have only heard it one, weak on 5985 kHz way under Voice of Turkey.

Myanmar Radio, on 9730 kHz., is often well heard here in Calif. Here is a typical recording I made back in January,
of their unique indigenous music - https://app.box.com/s/ulv18niaaaarlkp2nb82pqtprykcks89 .

Probably Myanmar relayed by Radio Romania. ;)

I used to live just west of Georgetown, Paul, at what was then a wide spot in the road called Plantersville. I figure it's all golf courses now? It was nothing but swamp and pines then. Do you have any idea where transmitter and antenna are for Carolina Gold? That entire region is flat as a pancake with a lot of salt marsh.

I asked a guy where the hardware store was in Georgetown once. He said, "At the top of the hill." I drove all over that town looking for that hill. I asked another guy and it turned out to be the grade for the railroad tracks going in and out of the pulp mill. Hill my ass, it was a bump in the road!

Stay away from that mustard BBQ if you get down there. It's not fit for human consumption.
