Local conditions are hindering reception tonight. But, announcer was heard pretty clear, and now the show is into a rock song. Signal seems to be up and down in reception. Sometimes the station is S9 on the meter with long periods of coming in good. Thanks for the show tonight.

The station is suddenly much stronger after a few minutes of tinkering with adjustments. The station continues to improve in signal strength and fidelity. It's really sounding good now. Good copy of WDOG and barking dog.

Getting a weak to fair signal here. Peaking at about S5.
Receiver: Unlisted KiwiSDR configured to 3-channel wideband mode.
Ant: Homemade "Wellgood" 1m amplified loop normally kept in a fixed position (NNW/SSE) to keep 1500 KSTP in the null.

0138 tuning over now, good SIO 444 signal, "The Dream Police" Gary Numan & Tubeway Army
0140 OM with WDOG ID, talking about new wave and punk, into "Police On My Back" The Clash (nice selection, professor!)
Dang, you played some Dag Nasty? Kind of wish I was around for that. Darn it when there are a bunch of pirates on at once! (But it's a good problem to have.)
0144 "Pretty Vacant" Sex Pistols
0147 WDOG ID, someone talking about "punka rocka" songs. Into "Flowers" The Psychedelic Furs
0152 "In the City" The Jam
0154 OM with English accent saying "I'm not trying to impress anyone but myself" into "Trash" New York Dolls
0156 "Chinese Rocks" Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers
0159 "Fall Out" The Police
0202 "(Get a) Grip (On Yourself)" The Stranglers
0205 "Endangered Species" U.K. Subs
0209 OM speaking (sounds like John Lydon) into "London Girls" The Vibrators
0211 dogs barking into "Under the Big Black Sun" X
starting to get some fades, band might be going long
0215 dogs howling, unintelligible OM voice, into "Feeling Called Love" Wire
0217 "You've Got My Number (Why Don't You Use It!)" The Undertones

There was something special about the summer of 1977, I still had hair, Punk Rock was in full bloom on both sides of the Atlantic, and Elvis died trying to take a dump. It was a magical time.

Sheer poetry. Anyway...

0219 OM saying "it's all fun until someone gets hurt" into "Search & Destroy" Iggy & The Stooges (OM gave his real name of James Osterberg, nice)
0223 dogs howling into "Are 'Friends' Electric?" Tubeway Army (bit of CW over the music at one point, but I'm a noob and couldn't make it out even though it was three or four letters sent relatively slowly - possibly OG OG? I dunno. [EDIT, thanks to another poster who of course said it was WDOG in CW. Well duh. I should have sussed that out.] Also occasional dog barks and howls on top of the music)
0226 OM with WDOG ID
0227 "Last Caress" The Misfits
0228 OM saying "That's a wrap! Punk-a Rock-a night"
0229 "Sonic Reducer" Dead Boys
0232 OM "Some of the lyrics of these songs are disturbing" into "Code Blue" T.S.O.L. (oh yes, that's appropriate)
0234 OM "WDOG doesn't condone any of the activities described in the music" into "Corona" Minutemen
0237 "Circles" Dag Nasty (yes, I loved these guys)
0239 OM saying song is about lazy day at the beach
0240 "Sound System" Operation Ivy (looking at earlier reports, show might be on a loop)
0242 OM "Okay, maybe I was wrong about that one." Into "TV Party" Black Flag (yep, it's looping)
0246 WDOG ID into "Bad Mouth" Fugazi
0248 OM talking about the Punk rock show
0249 "Viet Nam" Minutemen
0250 OM "I can tell right now this will be a lot of work! These songs are only two minutes long!"
0251 "No Control" Bad Religion
0252 "Brickfield Nights" The Boys
0256 "What Do I Get" Buzzcocks
0258 dogs barking into "Teenage Depression" Eddy & the Hot Rods
0301 OM saying he has to go. HFU shoutouts, thanks for those.  ;D
0303 OM signing off, QRT

0156 UTC Killer signal here with an unid punk rock tune-OM singer...S9 and excellent USB audio
0159 UTC British accented OM spoken word, followed by unid punk rock tune-YL singer
0201 UTC British accented OM "none of it made any sense....the ranting and the raving", then unid punk rock tune-OM singer
(I'd post more details, but sadly I'm lacking in the finer points of punk rock music!)
0223 UTC A major howling session! Followed by "Are Friends Electric"-Tubeway Army (with CW ID's over the tune)
0226 UTC OM with ID, into another unid punk tune
0229 UTC "Cover your ears or run away...whatever you need to do" (LMAO!)
0232 UTC "The lyrics to some of these songs is disturbing"  ;D
0302 UTC Still here with ya WDOG...Thanks for the shoutout! Don't work too hard tomorrow OM!
0303 UTC OFF

Now that was enlightening T.E.M.! I'm half deaf, so I only had to cover one ear  :)

How about the Dead Boy's "Son Of Sam"? It's got the dog that gave David Berkowitz his marching orders barking in the background. Stiv Bators and Rat Scabies had to sneak through the police line around Berkowitz's building with a tape deck to record the hell hound baying away.
