1230Z 45444  Sports then interrupted by the Waltzing Matilda IS at 1230Z. Did two IS, some digital modes for 7 minutes, then back to sports.

They don't normally play the Waltzing Matilda as an IS these days (at least on 9580), but they sure did back in the good ol' days. Forgot that they were doing the digital tx and when I suddenly heard the IS, a tear came to me eye.  :'(

I remember hearing the Waltzing Matilda IS and the kookaburra when tuning in R. Australia for "Countdown" and "Soundabout", religiously on 5995 and 9580, back in the 80's.

They still put in a powerful signal here in the NW at night, on several frequencies, 13630, 9660, 7410, and 11945.  Last night it was Rugby League football. The night before it was Grandstand AFL... A bit difficult to follow when you don't know the game.

R. Australia, R. Havana and R. New Zealand are the main English broadcasts I can hear anymore on SW (aside from the U.S. religious domestic stations).
An AM radio Boombox DXer.
+ GE SRIII, PR-D5 & TRF on MW.
The usual Realistic culprits on SW (and a Panasonic).

Sat morning UTC (Sat night Aussie time) are the Rugby/Australian Rules Football games. I listen to it, but don't understand it at all. But don't really care if I understand the game or not, its enjoyable.

You should also be able to hear Radio China in English. Kinda hard to miss them. I'm boycotting them until they bring back the Firedrake (preferably on their own freqs and not jamming others).

Radio Romania in English is on 9700 & 11955 from 0000-0100Z to the US East Coast (and works great to the upper midwest), and on 7350 & 9645 from 0300-0400Z to the US West Coast.

Radio Serbia's English program in on 9685 from 0030-0100Z on Tues-Sat.
