2238: Orson Welles' Mercury Theater - "War of the Worlds" (written by HG Wells) rebroadcast

OMG. Someone needs to tell me how it comes out. Does the earth survive? Does humanity survive?

Tuned in at 2323 utc on Barrington Hills IL sdr with fair S7 to S9 signal, sounds like the infamous Orson Wells "War of the Worlds" broadcast from 30 Oct 1938 but the recording is a bit slow, heard "2X2L calling CQ", Orson Wells reading from script, at 2351 SSTV/FAX followed by Thunder Chicken Radio ID then off air.

Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Well, the cockroaches survived, but as for intelligent life, sorry, but that flying saucer has sailed.
As for me, I happily welcome our new Martian overlords.
