CW 22WPM 5 letter grps 16263.84 (dial) 2224utc  08/21/2013 signal 579

Caught a header for one message as follows:

 BT NR 60 A 22 01:18:1 * 1985 BT OORER QXTCP KXJPX HWCBR EUMUL ... etc

Not sure what it is or where it is...  but it is still on at 2332utc but the signal is down in the noise.

Any ideas?

BTW, I didn't list this under 'spy' because it remains to be seen exactly what this is.

I figured it may well be a util... benefit of a doubt.

I am by far no expert but wouldn't this be an odd frequency for FAV22?

During my research I did not find a relation between this frequency and M51. I don't follow this one so my analysis is that you are most likely correct in saying that this frequency is odd.

This could indeed be M51, the format is about right for it.  However, the format is also about right for several Russian Navy transmissions.  And that freq has been used by the Russians in the past, it was very active with 200/1000 FSK last year.

Without a more complete transcript or a repeat transmission this will probably remain unresolved.

Thanks for your input...

Considering the info as given I am leaning toward M51 also.  Altho I can't give a full transcript what I do have seems right with the example given.

I just wandered across it, it was excellent CW and obviously machine sent... I thought it as being an 'odd' frequency also but... what is really normal these days?
