Red Mercury Labs 6940am 0250z 8/24/2013
« on: August 24, 2013, 0253 UTC »
Just noticed this, seems to be playing Rage Against The Machine's "Battle of Los Angeles" album.  About S5 or so and even with the noise tonight:

0252z: RATM "Testify"
0256z: Carrier still decent, but audio nearly gone now.
0259z: Audio back up with RATM "Calm like a bomb"
0302z: RATM "Mic check"
0306z: Brief carrier drop and back with RATM "Sleep now in the fire"
0309z: Carrier drop between songs again, RATM "Born of a broken man"
0314z: RML ID
0317z: RATM "Born as ghosts"
0321z: RATM "Maria"
0324z: Strong RML ID
0327z: RATM "Voice of the voiceless"

Thanks RML, been a while since I've listened to this album.

Strong carrier on the waterfall here but the audio is very low.

Not much making it thru.

0300 audio picked way up.

Also being heard on the West Coast.

SIO = 323 Noisy band with QSB. Audio here is ok.

0256 Still playing some Rage. Don't know the title of the song.

0259 Seem to have gotten quite stronger SIO = 423 now with either QSB or audio drop out.

Sounds like still RAtM @ 0310z.  Just above the noise here with occasional deep fades (or audio off?)
Announcer laughing @ 0315,  RML ID, weaker than normal here.   Audio up some @ 0317 with email address.
Signal gradually getting better, but still occasional deep fades.
Shoutout to me @ 0325z.  Thanks!

S8 signal into the High Desert.  Audio has been good after the initial up and down.

Mrs Token IDed the station as RML before the ID, and asked "why is RML in AM, isn't he normally sideband?" when she brought a drink over to my listening desk.  Possibly I have subjected her to too much Pirate Radio.  ;)

Heard on portable while walking the dog from 3:19 to 3:45. fair signal on barefoot ATS909x pretty good on peaks but gone completely on fades. The signal never did register on the funky s meter (the thing I hate about that radio is the weird bar graph s meter...useless) but was quite strong at times.

SDR recording catch, 0250 sign on with an S9 signal. Still quite a bit of static from t-storms.
