Vanuatu!
« on: March 07, 2024, 0829 UTC »
About 0710UTC, I checked my radio one last time before bed Mar 7 and noted Vanuatu in with a good signal.

First time I’ve heard them on air in months, last time was early last fall maybe, on 9960, drowned out by WRMI 9955.

I haven’t heard 7260 in 6 plus months.. if they’re on, I WILL hear them

Greetings, Paul, from California!

VANUATU. 7260, Radio Vanuatu, 1031-1103* UT, Mar 6. Segment of religious (Christian) preaching in Bislama, which
started and ended with the usual religious theme song (1031-1042); followed by religious songs; het from Xinjiang Radio
TV, being slightly off frequency (thanks to Mauno, who reported them on about 7259.9 kHz,); *1057, strong signal from CRI,
in Japanese; 1101-1103*, Vanuatu National Anthem faintly heard underneath CRI.

7260, Radio Vanuatu, 0611-0702 UT, Mar 5. YL moderator conducting a series of impassioned political speeches regarding
two upcoming elections (please see below); speeches mentioning Vanuatu's population of 360,000, Vanuatu 44 years old,
etc. As the two elections are so important, I believe RV will air many more of these special programs.

They've been coming in with actual audio more often here lately as well. I like their choice of 7260 much better than 9960, though I still miss the great harmonic reception on 11835.

11835 was just absolutely bangin' here in AK just about every night

7260 is at least fair, and often good.. but not as good as 11835 was.
