FCC Website & Pirate Radio - Have you visited me lately?
« on: October 29, 2013, 1842 UTC »
Just visited the FCC website and was greeted by a Skull and Crossbones banner warning of Pirate radio. Hit the Learn More link button, and was served up a nice expose of pirate radio and a number of sub-links from that page. It was kind of interesting reading, thought I'd share. Here is link:

http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/pirate-broadcast-stations

One of the Sub-links is titled "Aggressive Enforcement Actions", which show the most recent bust(s). Interesting to note the action datelines 05/2013 to 10/2013, there appears to be no enforcement between those dates. It's also interesting to note that fairly sizable number of busts emanate from the state of Florida.

cmradio - When I went to the FCC website at htp://www.fcc.gov.  You'll see the flashing banners. I did not see the Pirate Radio banner today though. ...RCCI

Actually, NYC is closing fast on becoming the top U.S. hot-spot.

I still need to dig into the FCC's new pirate map and data, but I can already tell that it only goes back to 2005 and doesn't include the full gamut of enforcement activities. Nor does it include local busts of pirates (particularly in FL).
