The Crystal Ship 6876 AM
« on: September 02, 2009, 0706 UTC »
9/1/09, 6876 AM - Best signal I've heard from The Crystal Ship this summer.
0156z: Beatles "Hard Days Night".  Lots of noise, but audible.
0158z: Monkees "Last Train to Clarksville"
0203z: TCS ID, female voice, with mention of power output (100 watts?), and e-mail address.
0204z: Amboy Dukes "Journey to the Center of the Mind"
0208z: Lemon Pipers "Green Tambourine"
0211z: Hoiman's Hoimits "Enery the Ape, oy yam"
0215z: Partridge Family "I Think I Love You"
0220z: TCS ID w/ "Freedom of the airwaves" slogan.
0220z: Dave Clark Five "Glad All Over"
0258z: Beach Boys "Wouldn't It Be Nice"

As usual, I'm hearing TCS more clearly on the barefoot Magnavox D2935 portable indoors in AM mode with just the built in whip.  Dunno why, but TCS usually comes in better on this portable than the Palstar.  Probably something to do with the audio quality - TCS audio is top notch and punches through the noise well.

SINPO - 32232, puching thru heavy noise and local RFI well enough to copy familiar songs

(N. Central TX - indoors with Magnavox D2935 portable on built-in whip)
That li'l ol' DXer from Texas
Unpleasant Frequencies Crew
Al: Palstar R30C & various antennae
Snoopy: Sony ICF-2010
Roger: Magnavox D2935
(Off-air recordings.)
