Only audible in the southwest US (and I suppose adjacent parts of Mexico) it seems and you need a good antenna.

  • Continuous Japanese pop music. (I don't know much Japanese but when I hear it I can distinguish it from Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese.) Though some of the J-POP lyrics are in English.
  • No ID (thus "presumed") over the past 30 minutes or so but this station used to operate on 11515 and, given the programming, I am assuming that they have moved frequency.
  • More exact frequency, per GPS-disciplined Kiwi SDRs, appears to be 11529.89 KHz.
  • I assume that they are still operating 24 hours x 7 days/week.
  • Overall the signal seems to be stronger than I remember it in the past (i.e., 6-12 months or so) but today might just be a good day.
  • Of the Kiwi SDRs, the best reception that I have found seems to be on the quasi-new Palomar Mountain SDR(s) in Southern California. http://palomar-2.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/?f=11529.89samz7

It's also often listenable (including today) via the Northern Utah SDR.

Per info from last week's "World of Radio" episode, the operator of this station is in the midst of renaming it from Hikari FM to something TBD.

Yeah, I noticed that. I was lumping Northern Utah into the southwest, rightfully or wrongfully.

Definitely not audible here in the eastern USA, not even a weak carrier.
