Tuned into a Navtex broadcast on 517kc at approx. 0105u and copied about 8 minutes worth. Copy was excellent as the signal was quite strong. (One vessel seems to be in trouble)

I enjoy decoding Navtex but out here in Montana I usually tune into Region 12 (West Coast) stations. Sometimes I receive reports from the Gulf.- always on 518 khz. I have never seen anything on 490 khz.

Interesting -  Tonight 12/10/13  I'm receiving all Region 4 stations (East Coast) on 518 khz.. Never seen this before. Forecast for San Juan PR - Bermuda etc. Frequent deep fades.

FLDigi "unlocks" and prints out a bunch of garbage on the signal fades if I don't set the squelch high enough.
