Well hallelujah!

Earlier today I was lamenting the dearth of 4 MHz beacons poking through the ether. I left the radio sitting on Hexie's frequency of 4096.240 KHz and while I was eating dinner I heard Hexie rise up out of the noise  at 19:50 PST! It faded to barely audible after a few minutes and occasionally rises up a bit.

20:00 PST

"A" beacon on 2097.300 KHZ with mild fading from barely readable to sometimes almost 20 over the noise floor. It has drifted down from earlier observations of 15 Hz high so possibly so it may be related to local temps.

I checked 18 discrete beacon frequencies as well as 9 groups of Russian cluster beacons. I will now park on some of the discrete frequencies for a while to see if anything rises up out of the noise.

Beacon HG7BHB par SV1XV, on ipernity

Tonight 2015-11-14 at 21:45 UTC I noticed a new beacon on 5357 kHz with callsign HG7BHB repeating the following text in A1A CW: "VVV DE HG7BHB QTH JN97LE34SF PWR 50W".
