Radio buoy CW ID "IK" preceded by a long carrier keydown.  Received morning of 2 November 2026.

Noted on 26.730 MHz and 26.880 MHz.  Nice strong signal and easy copy of the Morse code ID.  Numerous other radiobuoys noted on the 26 MHz and 27 MHz bands, most using FSK transmission instead of regular old Morse code.  However, there are still plenty of regular old carrier transmitters that transmit a 2-character (sometimes 1 or 3 character CW ID) at the end of long carrier key down.  The same transmitter, or at least the same Morse ID, then pops up on another frequency.

Chances are the characters used in the ID for the beeper buoys are the last characters of a fishing vessel's name or other identification.
