Afedri dual channel receivers
« on: June 09, 2014, 0459 UTC »
Afedri's site has 2 SDR receivers to choose from with dual channels that I am stoked about. I want one so I can use antenna diversity and therefore reduce fading of my received signals!  Or I could use it as 2 separate receivers in one and view different spectrum from each.

AFE822x SDR-Net ( Dual Channel )

I'm going to study these up. I don't know the difference between the 2 besides the physical stuff.  I need to get some sleep so I have more mental bandwidth to study with.

Any idea how it addresses the separate channels?  Different IP addresses or something?

Assuming they copied the netSDR (which they did previously) the I/Q data from the two channels are interleaved in the UDP data stream.

I'm tempted by the dual receiver simply on the cost per unit basis (hey, only $100 for another SDR!) but in all likelihood would simply use one receiver on my H-800 and the other on my (eventual) skyloop.  If that's the case then an antenna switcher is lots cheaper....

But with a switcher you don't get both of your antennas combined :)
