Sounds like 2 stations drifting in and out. The religious broadcast is the strongest of the two. The other station sounds like a commercial station.

Nothing at all here during that time period, not even a faint carrier on the SDR recording.

Perhaps a local mixing product? I had an issue with that happening a year or two ago, from WWRB I believe. See if you can get a TOH ID, then you might be able to figure out which two frequencies of theirs are mixing together.
