I made a holy discovery
« on: November 15, 2014, 2316 UTC »
I began shortwave listening in 2007, and yet I just found out who Pastor Mellisa Scott (the female preacher on WWCR 13845) is. I never knew until just now that is the name of the lady, and that she used to be an "adult actress" named...get ready.. Barbie Bridges.

And take a look at Mrs. Scott..

Whew, I'd like to get saved by her.

Hehehe...

Very interesting!  Back in the old days, I used to watch her "husband" Gene Scott on television.  If anyone remembers it then you'll remember how screwy his broadcasts were.  Atlantis, The Pyramids mixed with Gene's take on religion.  Gene Scott was a trip.  Smoking cigars, cursing...  And I read somewhere that Melissa Scott is now the pastor of the "Church".  Had no clue she was an "adult actress" but laughingly, I can see how it all fits together.

Yep, she was one of Gene's "Pony Girls", many of whom worked as adult performers, escorts and exotic dancers. She was smart enough to marry the old coot a couple of years before he died. Without a pre-nup to boot.

Guy's like Gene and Ernest Angley made waking up on Sunday mornings fun. BTW, Ernest is in trouble again, tithe early and often.

Ernest is earnest about getting vasectomies.

What an old coot.

Televangelists, America's dirty little secret. Well, that and what's in a Big Mac.

Angley acknowledged that volunteer labor is used at Grace Cathedral’s buffet restaurant, despite a warning that the use of volunteer labor at a for-profit company is a violation of federal labor laws.

LOL!  You just can't make that stuff up.  I remember this guy from high school.  Friends used to get together and party while watching this kook "HEAL" people and advertising his trips to the "Holy Land" to be booked through his travel group.  "OUT YOU NICOTINE DEVILS"..... and he'd smack 'em in the head.

He used to show up here regularly on his revival circuit. One night just as they're passing around the plates, Ernest announces he's just received a message from God, "20's and up only."

The thing that cracked me up the most about Ernest was the cheap rug he wore. Ernest would hop all over the stage, but the rug never moved. He would be talking to people to the right and left of the stage, but the rug always faced forward.

"Say Bay-Bee!"
