9585 AM unid @ 1200z (clandestine?)
« on: November 29, 2009, 1222 UTC »
11/29/09, 9585 kHz AM, 1200 UTC: Potentially interesting unid.  Noticed at 1200z when Australia on both 9580 and 9590 took a deep dive from their usual strong signals.  Nothing listed for this time slot on EiBi.  A possibility listed on clandestineradio.com, Vietnam, New Horizon Radio, aka Chân Tròi Mói, but not for this time slot, usually logged after 1300z on that site.  Unable to receive streaming audio via http://www.radiochantroimoi.com/ to confirm.

Very weak, murky signal, non-English language, sounds vaguely Asian language.  Woman speaking in very calm tones; occasional interludes with pleasant music.

Signal picked up slightly after 1220z, language is reminiscent of Vietnamese.  Music sounds like Sunday worship fare heard on many stations.

Faded to barely audible by 1240z.
