How to optimize indoor ATS-60
« on: May 09, 2015, 2010 UTC »
Hi everybody!

HF newbie here. I just bought my first SW radio yesterday (Sangean ATS-909X) and it came with a 23' indoor long wire antenna. How do I configure it to get the best possible reception? I hung it on my curtain rod on the east end of my apartment on the second floor and around the top of the wall then down to the radio on my computer desk. I can get lots of SWBC stations (mostly American ones) but the utilities sound terrible. I've only picked up a couple of aeronautical stations (poorly) but absolutely no maritime after several searches through all of the ranges. Any tips to improve my reception would be greatly appreciated.
