low s7 into DC, lots of atmospheric buzz. next to big blob of local qrm not helping reception.
new station for me, always a nice surprise to get one during the week.

sdr with horizontal loop antenna, 20 feet up, 250 feet all around. wellbroke loop for amdx and tropdx, very very lucky reception.

Nice remembrance.

I was born and raised in a small port town - Fairport Harbor, Ohio.  The EF was a somewhat frequent visitor to our port, and the First Engineer on that fateful sail, Ed Bindon, lived a few streets away from me.  (Almost half the crew was from Ohio.)
