Will be trying on 6920 AM
« on: March 28, 2016, 0206 UTC »
I will be trying on 6920 AM off and on tonight with some Big Band music at 100 watts from the left coast.  Already confirmed by SDR I'm getting out at least over half the country, but it'll be interesting to see if I can get some precise reports.

I'm hearing a very weak carrier here at 0240 UTC. Unfortunately, not even a trace of audio :(
QSL's to poorbrookking >at< aol.com are greatly appreciated! All reception and postings using My radio, My antenna, and generally in real time(excluding posting of SSTV images!).

Thanks for the (non) report.   ;)  That's okay, VOACAP doesn't show I'm quite hitting the right coast yet.  I might need to wait a couple more hours for things to line up better.

It's currently 0252 UTC.  I'm going to shut it down for 30 minutes or so to cool off.  Finals are scorching right now.

OK...thanks for trying to reach us over here on the east coast! The carrier I had was definitely on 6919.9 or so. Maybe something else or just the placebo effect from straining though the noise ??? It's been a long day at the radio here :)

Back at it right now for about the next 30 minutes before I head off to bed.  I jury rigged myself a little extra cooling power to the back of the Icom:

Okay, I'll try USB for a few minutes.  I try to avoid SSB because my amplifier has fits when I try to use it.

I'm quite sure I just heard myself on the New Brunswick SDR at 6920 on USB.  Just barely above the noise floor.

Well that's it for me tonight, guys.  Been blasting out on 6920 USB for about 15 minutes now at about 100 watts.  Should be hitting damned near everything in the continental US, but my direction may be off too.  Could be a bunch of people in South America are wondering what the hell is going on.   ;D  I'll give it another go in a few nights.
