« on: April 10, 2016, 1452 UTC »
Heard WTWW (Lebanon, TN) on 5 April, 2016 @ 0220 UTC on 5085 AM with music.  Signal was good using only telescoping whip on my RS DX-398 :)

necromancing this thread.....

In the early evenings I am able to listen to WTWW 5085 KHz on a pretty regular basis here in Southern California. I like the music they play and the DJ patter and ads are amusing   ;D

Run across them now & then and agree with Teotwaki.

Have it on now (12 Jul 2017 UTC 0107) and couple of guys talking about radio. WTWW does have good bass on their signal.

Is Ted the name of the announcer/DJ?

Right now I have a great S9 signal and a little fading on 5085 KHz with Elvis belting out Burnin' Love   :-)

I think the evening broadcast on 5085 tends to be irregular. I don't tune in often enough to know if there's a pattern, but it's definitely not on every evening at the same time.

I agree that something is up but likewise, no pattern that I have discerned.

They used to be very reliable when broadcasting a full show on weeknights a few months back. When I could not receive them the previous night I went to the web site and I could access the transmitter audio feed. That made me think the transmitter was still up but propagation was poor.

However, last night at 20:20 PST they abruptly stopped broadcasting in the middle of a song. Normally they drop at the top of the hour while playing a vocal of the Star Spangled Banner.

That would explain a lot if they are.

That is a fascinating insight. I'll try to remember to look at their weather and try to correlate with the next time they seem to be off the air.

pretty good signal tonight but odd that they signed off at 10 min after the hour with the star spangled banner 0410Z 2Aug

Will look at weather there and edit this post if I see anything to correlate

Surprised to hear WTWW on early this morning still playing Christmas songs. Strong signal, about 15 dB over the noise on 5085 KHz AM
