The transmitter we now use for our beacon
transmissions is an home made mosfet transmitter giving
10-15 watts, but we think that the output from the antenna is around
10 watts. The output has an IRF 520 mosfet, and has two stages before that,
with one transistor in each stage, in the oscillator stage and the buffer stage.
Although we are now driving the transmitter with a DDS generator.
The transmitter is "coded" in the buffer stage by a small self
ensemble beacon keyer. The Morse code messaged is "recorded" manually
into the chip in the beacon keyer, using a home made Morse "paddle
key".
On our website we also have an alert that's shows if the Beacon is on or not.
