Propagation was very good last night and into this morning on most of the SW bands, especially the low bands despite high static signals were quite good.

17.675MHz  AM  Radio New Zealand International in English with "local" style programming.  5X9 plus 10dB at 2338z.
17.615MHz  AM  Radio Saudi Arabia with call to prayer session. Riyadh transmitter. 5X9 plus 30dB over at 1033z.

13.695MHz  AM  All India Radio to Australia in English, Indian news, music and inviting SWL reports via email. Bengaluru transmitter 500Kw. 5X9 plus 40dB over at 1024z.

 9.765MHz  AM  Radio New Zealand International in English, local youth and music venue news. 5X8 with heavy fades and huge bleed over from Chinese station at 1055z.
 9.865MHz  AM  All India Radio (relay from Vividh Bharati) in Hindi with old style Hindi traditional music tracks. Bengaluru transmitter, 5X9 plus 10dB over at 1051z.

 7.260MHz  AM  Radio Vanuatu, Port Vila, Vanuatu with local chat in broken English and Pidgin "local government" topic. Port Vila transmitter 10Kw. 5X8 at 1119z.
 
 5.020MHz  AM  Radio Happy Isles (SIBC) Honiara, Solomon Islands, "whats on at your church on Christmas Day?" topic. Honiara transmitter.  5X7 report at 1130z.
 5.925MHz  AM  Islamic Republic of Iran International to Albania in Albanian with talk back & phone interview plus music breaks. 5X9 plus 10dB over at 1813z.
 5.980MHz  AM  Voice of Turkey in Turkish with chat and Turkish music. Transmitter in Turkey. 5X9 plus 30dB over at 1835z.

 4.930MHz  AM  African style music, no breaks, unidentified station, old American Armed Forces frequency, great music, lively! Mystery station. 5X5 to 5X9 report at 1811z.

Needless to say many Chinese, Japanese and Korean stations heard also, to numerous to report.  Jack VK2XQ.

Thanks MDK2, but the question remains unresolved as to 4.930MHz, no talk, no ident, just continuous African music.  Maybe a test for things to come... ???

Regarding 4.830MHz, I have heard Asian language there, possibly Radio China outlet.

MDK2 is correct. This is VOA Moepeng Hill, Botswana. Regularly heard here in Melbourne in our early morning period with continuous Afro music. Always great listening, too!  73 de Rob VK3BVW
