UHF mil air

Last night on my piaware receiver I picked up hex code AE0414 off the coast of Massachusetts, an E-6B Mercury (reg 164387) using callsign "PIGGY13". They did an unusual clockwise circuit over the mid-Atlantic before heading out into the gulf of Maine towards Bangor, then turned around and backtracked until turning out to sea south of Cape Cod where trackers lost them.

A couple of aircraft (plus their trainers) in the Buckeye MOA (Southern Ohio) this afternoon.  Sounds like they are doing some low altitude manuevers.

357.100 - Buckeye tactical, coordination and generation of targets here, plus trainees with tactical comms during their simulated attack
316.125 - Buckeye tactical, more coordination, plus briefing of training, along with results of simulated attack here
312.175 - Buckeye tactical
248.65 - Buckeye tactical
290.500 - ATC
353.525 - doesn't seem to be tactical, but I often hear short bits of traffic here during exercises in the MOA.
353.75 - ATC

Heh, they are targeting someone's house.  Trainer mentioning a pond next to the house to ensure he targets the correct one.
1841z - '3-2-1-release'
Lots of talk about the pickle timing - (pickle = ordinance release button/control)

1849 - new target now, a little north of previous target.  Trainer call this an 'eyeball shooter'.Trainer will be between 16k and 17k altitude ('the high block').  Trainees below 15k ('the low block').
1850 - trainer finding a car on the highway to tag/make a target, another 'eyeball shooter'
1854 - car moving north, set-up for a south to north attack.
1857 - trainer clearing the high block (descending).  Trainees looking for another random moving target now.

More simulated air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons training tonight in the Buckeye/Brush Creek MOA.
Mostly on 316.125, occasionally on 357.100 and 225.700.  Also ATC on 290.500 and 353.750.
Calling out distances to targets and friendies relative to some other target (possibly a laser painted structure).
Calling out time to impact (nearly a minute for some).

Targets are 2 rows of cars, 1 aircraft attacking each row.
Frequencies: 248.65, 316.125, 353.525, 357.100.  Also hearing (possibly unrelated) traffic on 126.20
1413 - getting set-up to do a GU-12 Simo-delivery attack

Bigger exercise in the Buckeye MOA now, with CAP HUNTRESS and MUDDY42 calling out and intercepting targets (seem to be 180th FW).
Looks like HUNTRESS is way down around the Great Smokey Mountains and heading northeast.

260.90 - CAP air-to-air operations
316.125 - CAP confirming with aircraft that they have been intercepted, referring to this frequency as 'UHF Guard'

1922 - MUDDY41 has been intercepted
1926 - visual contact, single engine, pointy nose, single tail, viewing into canopy, single pilot.
1927 - giving directional commands to the intercepted plane, so far not responding.

1848 - some of the aircraft are RTB now, ATC on 290.50

Air to Air dog-fights and intercepts this afternoon in Buckeye MOA.
MUDDY41 AND MUDDY 42 are a couple of the callsigns.  Also HUNTRESS and DARKSTAR.
MUDDY41 has a speed-brake indicator issue but continuing with exercise.
Frequencies: 260.9, 316.125, 294.325, 290.5, 141.65

On 316.125 @ 2110:  "unidentified F-16, this is the armed interceptor on your right side, if you do not respond you may be shot down".  No response.

Also hearing some traffic on 343.000, old Jefferson Proving Ground frequency.
