"US" beacon 242KHz unidentified?
« on: April 15, 2017, 2230 UTC »
At 1230z I logged beacon US on 242KHz 529 report, out of phase with LT in Launceston, Tasmania.

Checked the various NDB data bases and came up with nothing, near or on the frequency of 242KHz.

Perhaps it was a temporary military beacon?  They pop up now and again with a variety of callsigns.

The beacon was very clear and audible peaking just under 539 report.  Anyone shed some light on this one please?
