SHARES Northeast Net 6845 kHz 1640 UTC 26 April 2017

Hearing several stations checking in with net control station NCS042 and NCS042 requesting any and all check-ins and relays from other nets.  SHARES also heard on 6910 kHz USB and 6765 kHz USB.  At 1644 UTC, NCS042 doing another radio check and requesting "any station any region" check in to net.

SHARES NORTH net happening at the same time (these are weekly nets) on 6765 USB.  Didn't hear anything on 6910 USB or 7320 USB but the band conditions have been less-than-great so its possible I just wasn't hearing them.

Plus MARS "Disaster Net", FEMA, SECURE, and Civil Air Patrol HF SSB frequencies, including 7615 kHz USB (CAP Nationwide "CAP NHQ" net) - CAP has hundreds of other frequencies including ALE capability.  I mention them here because I've heard CAP callsigns on several SHARES nets in the past, indicating their participation in SHARES radio checks and programming of SHARES frequencies in CAP radios.  I can also confirm that CAP includes FEMA-1 5211 kHz USB and FEMA-2 10493 kHz USB in their radio programming for direct communications with FEMA networks.

Missing SHARES West (I assume there's a SHARES West) frequency - if somebody has it I'd like to add it to my listing

There actually isn't a SHARES West, although some stations still use that term. SHARES has a Southwest Net that takes in California & a SHARES Northwest Net. You can hear 14402.0 used as the SHARES Northwest frequency & again, they will sometimes reference it as SHARES West. As a matter of fact, 14402.0 is active as of 1716 UTC today (11 OCT 2017).

SHARES NW uses 5429.0 & 14402.0 & SHARES SW uses 7403.5. These are daytime frequencies.

I heard three SHARES frequencies active today between 1330 UTC and 1500 UTC (although the nets are supposedly only from 1400 UTC to 1500 UTC the net control operators tend to chat with each other before and after the net official begins and ends) on 6765 kHz USB, 6845 kHz USB and 6910 kHz USB.  Really good signals on 6765 USB and 6845 USB, even for daytime 6-7 MHz band propagation.  Seems like these frequencies are used every Wednesday morning as part of their radio check and practice protocols. 

It's cool hearing different stations check into the three different nets one after the other, even cooler watching their signals on a remote SDR waterfall.

I'll keep an eye on 7403.5 kHz USB as well.  Always good to have more frequencies, especially for daytime and nighttime operations.

What's always been fun for me, when monitoring the SHARES network, is copying some obscure & rarely heard US Government stations. Years ago, there was a SHARES exercise involving a USAF NAOC (National Airborne Operations Center) E-4B aircraft, in flight. The aircraft used a tactical call, FE9 (Foxtrot Echo 9) & "polled" stations as they attempted contact. As you can imagine, there was just a huge group of stations trying to contact the aircraft!

That's a pretty awesome catch.  I've noticed several different stations checking into these nets, including one of the American National Red Cross (American Red Cross) HF stations under callsign KNNP491 (which is actually a FCC issued land mobile callsign and not a government/military call) checking in to 6845 kHz USB on the October 4th, 2017 net.

There are also TELCO stations that check into the nets. TELCO stations have an important NS/EP (National Security/Emergency Preparedness) role in disaster communications.
