8000 kHz AM, 0400-0500 UTC - African clandestine?
« on: June 30, 2008, 0432 UTC »
Saturday night, 6/28/08, 8000 kHz AM, 0400-0500 UTC, possibly Eritrea which has been logged around the world at 7999 +/- kHz.  Catchy Afropop music, long segments of man talking, UNID language, mentions of Islam.  Very good signal for more than an hour, faded after 0500z.  Carrier dropped at 0500 UTC, came back after a minute, but no positive ID or distinct interval music.  SINPO - 45323.  (N. Central Texas)

Update: Heard at much weaker signal strength, same times Sunday and Monday nights.  Apparently the Saturday night catch was an exception due to favorable propagation.
