8.095MHz USB Aviation traffic...
« on: July 04, 2017, 0228 UTC »
Last night I stumbled upon the tail end of a communications between a base and an aircraft on 8.095MHz USB.

"...??61 standby by for Selcal check."  Selcal check heard, both aircraft and base had American accents in English language. Signals around a 5X5 report.

8.095MHz USB remained quiet for next hour I continued monitoring.

Could this be airforce or private?  Heard similar earlier in the year down on 8.047MHz USB in Indonesian language also with Selcal check.

FWIW
Found a 1997 listing:
8095 USB Miami Aeradio, FL    FA

2002 aerolist.xls has this: 8095 LDOC   ARINC (SYLVAIR Radio), Miami    W9
-------------------------------------------
Heard some tfc abt a week ago on 10021kHz in SS? (too weak to read) perhaps in this case it was a LDOC

Thanks for that, thought it may be LDOC or Military as too quiet to be otherwise. I monitored 8.095MHz for three hours last night and nothing, except for a small group of Indonesians chatting on 8.097MHz LSB.

10.021MHz is listed on one site as RDARA and on another as MWARA and both category 1 which is Europe, plus other offsets.  International protocols state English is to be used on MWARA frequencies, not sure about RDARA.

Could be Spanish pirates too, I get Indonesians chatting on 8.826MHz USB near daily with aviation ops on 8.825MHz USB, this morning I heard Chinese Military CW on 8.825MHz at 2000z too.

Australian RDARA frequency 8.831MHz USB has Indonesians chatting exactly on that frequency during hours of darkness.

No respect or law and order on HF bands any more... :-[

Hey L-G:
Can you hear the "D" marker on 10872.2 kHz down under?
It shows up on the AKKY SDR (http://sdr.hu/map) in Japan real good, thinking it replaced the "F" marker in the Russian Far East.

Have heard most of the active Russian cluster/marker beacons at one time or another.

"A" Astrakhan appeared a few months back after being absent for some time too, June log is below, nothing on 10MHz although I do hear them but not always note them down:

1543z  4.495MHz  CW  "A" Astrakhan, Volga River 319 report.

1642z  5.094MHz  CW  "V" possibly Khiva, Xorazm Uzbekistan 319 report, usually on 5.055MHz CW.
2006z  5.154MHz  CW  "M" Magadan, Sea of Okhotsk, Far East 419 report.
2008z  5.154MHz  CW  "A" Astrakhan, Volga River 539 report.

2108z  7.508MHz  CW  "D" Sevastapol, Ukraine, Black Sea, 429 report.
2120z  7.508MHz  CW  "C" Moscow River, Moscow 529 report.
1940z  7.508MHz  CW  "S" Severomorsk, Kola Bay, Murmansk. 319 report.

1806z  8.495MHz  CW  "S" Severomorsk, Kola Bay, Murmansk. 539 report.
1810z  8.495MHz  CW  "M" Magadan, Sea Of Okhotsk, Far East. 569 report.
1813z  8.495MHz  CW  "A" Astrakhan, Volga River. 579 report.

0751z 10.871MHz  CW  "D" Sevastapol, Ukraine, Black Sea. 419 report.

0930z 13.528MHz  CW  "M" Magadan, Sea of Okhotsk, Far East. 529 report.
0933z 13.528MHz  CW  "F" Vladsvostok, Far East, Sea of Japan. 559 report.

Think the 10MHz beacons are April & May logs, but Sevastapol "D" is often heard on most frequencies here at one time or another.  However, will check on Grey Line this evening, see entry on list... :)
