6925u Wolverine Radio 0420z 9-19-2010
« on: September 19, 2010, 0421 UTC »
Just (seemed to) came (come) up moments ago ...

Propagation must be weird tonight - Wolverine is normally quite strong form the outset ...

As a matter of fact, the QRN (lightning static) is not bad this evening, and haven't one 'sweeper' or OTH/Auroral RADAR either ...

Just for the record, there are T-storms across the central part of the country, yet, they aren't producing the usual signal-decimating QRN ... is propagation that bad? Maybe ...

Was just barely audible here, couldn't even copy a clear ID, unusual for Wolverine.  Must be good ol' no-sunspot propagation.

Turned on the radio when I got home tonight and caught the end of Wolverine's show.  Seems like a "school" theme tonight.

0434z Wolverine ID, Rock 'n' Roll High School
0436  School's Out - Alice Cooper
0439  High School Memories
0443  Wolverine ID and SSTV:

S9 with nice audio, wish I could have tuned in earlier.

Thanks, Wolverine!

On top of that, I've had a spate of neighbors buying treadmills it seems; it's easy to 'tell' by the noise they make as the 'walker' proceeds in their work-out routine, step by step (the motor loads down then get unloaded briefly then loaded down again so the 'grinding' elec noise can be heard changing) ... I took the opportunity just moments ago to drive around the block with a 2' tuned loop stuck through the sun/moon roof on the car DFing this latest 'noise' that had cropped about 11:30 PM local up on Wolverine ... a different 'source' treadmill on a different street than last Monday ...

Pray you aren't surrounded by those things, the one half a block to my west (about 10 house lots sequentially) kills 40 and 80 M by about 10 dB additional noise ...

Heard on the south-west coast of Norway as well! The signal was weak, but readable at times. SIO 232 at peaks.

0410z  Humphrey and Dave talking about going back to school, then song: “I’m going back to school” (not sure what this was)
0411z  Oldie
0413z  ID: “Wolverine Radio”
0413z  “Me and Julio down by the School Yard”

Then the signal was gone for a long while.

0443z SSTV (we recorded the end of it and were able to decode a very blurred version of the lower part of the picture shown in this thread)

Sounded like an interesting show. If only the signal had been a bit stronger ...
