Radio Romania Intl issues?
« on: August 06, 2017, 0022 UTC »
Was enjoying a beautifully strong and clear signal from RRI on 7375 a few minutes ago on my PL880 and all of a sudden, their TX shut off. Still off as I type this. Issues with electricity to the TX site? They are experiencing a massive heat wave according to their programmes so maybe the TX'ers overheated.

I missed the break, but when I tuned at 0028, 7375 kHz was on the air.

0028Z 45444 S9 RRI is fine here now. YL & OM talking about furniture.
0029Z 45444 S9 ID "That was Radio Romania International Encyclopedia"
0030Z 45444 S9 ID "You are listening to Radio Romania International"
0030Z 45444 S9 Eugen Cicero "Pas De Trois"
0030Z 7375 kHz transmitter off the air. 9730 is still going strong.
0040Z 35443 S7 7375 kHz returns to the air. OM reading the mailbag.
0043Z 7375 kHz is off the air.
0046Z 35443 S7 7375 kHz is back on, but a dead carrier. Then off, on, off.
0046Z 45444 S9 Returns with audio with YL talking.
0049Z 45444 S9 Romanian music.
0053Z 45444 S9 Gypsy Music Players "Saraiman"
0055Z 45444 S9 OM signing off with schedule.
0056Z 45444 S9 RRI IS

I don't think its an outside temperature problem. At 0052Z, its only 78 deg F (25.7 deg C) in Tiganesti. If the cooling for the 7375 kHz transmitter is broken, that's a different deal.

Even with 7375 at its best (tonight or other times), 9730 does a better job into here.
