I was briefly up early to see if there were any meteors from the Perseid shower to see, but no luck. However, I was listening to RNZI starting right at 1059, heard the pips for 1100 and observed that there was no antenna switch. Their site still says that they are supposed to switch the beam, but this lack of change has been observed since 28 JUL, the same date that they moved the 0459-0658 leg of their broadcasting from 9700 to 9630 AM. They do have two transmitters, so perhaps they are still broadcasting to the NW 1059-1258 as advertised.

Perhaps I'll submit a reception report with these observations and guesses, see if they respond in detail or just with a canned reply.

I emailed them two weeks ago asking specifically about whether the antenna switch has stopped.  Still awaiting response.

@CT Yankee - I was looking at their website and I think I have found the answer.

Quote
RNZI Antenna

We operate two high frequency and two low band antennae manufactured by TCI of California. One of each beams 35 degrees and one of each beams 325 degrees. They can be driven individually, or when fed in parallel the beam widens to 140 degrees.

...

The 35 degree beam covers the South Eastern Pacific, and North America. The 325 degree beam covers the South Western Pacific, NE Australia, Japan, China and Europe.

With the antennae combined, virtually all the Pacific Basin is covered.
