Wolverine Radio 6925U "fool" theme
« on: November 07, 2010, 0114 UTC »
11/7/10
6925 USB
0050z: Crooner music, maybe Bing Crosby
0053z: Billie Holiday "The Man I Love"
0058z: Wolverine Radio ID
0059z: Blues, sounds like John Lee Hooker or Muddy Waters

0105z: Ray Charles "I'm A Fool For You"
0110z: Wolverine Radio ID after bluesy song with "What a fool am I" in lyrics.

SINPO=32432, good signal but nearly continuous local RFI here.

0111z: Elvis - (Now And Then There's) A Fool Such As I
0113z: Ricky Nelson - Poor Little Fool
0115z: Everybody's Somebody's Fool - Connie Francis?
0123z: Aretha Franklin - Chain of Fools.  Doo-doo-doo...

SINPO=42433, since around 0110z much stronger peaks punching through local RFI

0142z: Heard some Stones "Fool To Cry", right now sounds like Johnette Napolitano/Concrete Blonde, but don't recognize song.
0145z: Joe Jackson - Fools In Love
0150z: Led Zep - Fool In The Rain.  Some of the best rock drumming ever.
0215z: SSTV of Tarot fool card

SINPO=43423, since around 0130z, still strong peaks but deeper fades to S1.

(Gopher Stomp, TX - Palstar R30C w/ SP30 speaker, like Bender!  Great sounding speaker for shortwave.  And zee fugly loop.)

Thanks for the show, wish I could have heard the show a few days ago this well.  Propagation is a fickle wench.

In the immortal words of the Decider in Chief: "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Really solid, local like, signal the entire time he was up.  I was listening for over and hour and 20 minutes and the deepest fade that happened was just detectable, just an ever so slight decrease in the signal.

The SSTV as received here:

Really good signal, and good theme.  As often is the case with Wolverine it ran from some real oldies on up to pretty recent stuff.  Even some nice Blues in there.
