40M dasher? 7129.3 khz (with SDR screenshot)
« on: February 17, 2018, 0701 UTC »
Found this while snooping around on 40M on Token's online SDR receiver - 7129.3 KHz.  Weak to medium signal strength, nice traces on the waterfall display.

28 dashes per minutes at 0635z.   Cannot hear it directly here at home NW of Denver....  Been steady like this for 20+ minutes....

I may upload a screenshot later - it's getting late...

Hearing it well again this morning (thanks to Token's SDR rcvr in the Mojave Desert) - still not heard on the home receiver.  Time now 1526z.

Got the screenshot attached this time.

Unfortunately I don't think this is a real signal.  This is probably some kind of RFI that popped up on my receiver a few days ago.  I have not yet chased it down to find the source.  If you look around you should find it on several different freqs, probably more than a dozen, all apparently on some multiple of about 61 kHz.

(edit)  Yes, this is for sure a local noise source.  I have not yet found the source, and it is not inside the house (I killed power to the house and the shop and the signal is still there).

Interesting!  It sure had that look and feel of a dasher.  That might also explain why I couldn't pick it up on any other remote receivers in the SW US....
