The M89 monitoring has taken some effort with a mass of frequency changes for 2018 and poor propagation hasn't helped either. The 8, 9 and 10MHz transmissions of M89 have still yet to be logged.
There are also many new Round Slip changes for 2018 also which adds to the variety of M89 chasing. This week I extended the wire antenna from 300 feet to 450 feet but found harmonics, spurs and birdies from the two local MW stations increased dramatically on the low bands so I reverted back to the 300 feet.
Chinese chatter can be often heard on the M89 frequencies on USB mode when the CW transmissions are not running, the majority of the chatter appears to be in Mandarin. All of the below logged with either the Yaesu FT-2000D or the Tecsun S-2000:
1723z 3.328MHz CW "V M8JF M8JF M8JF de RIS9 RIS9" 529 report.
1849z 4.326MHz CW "V QW2A QW2A QW2A de G5VD G5VD" 539 report.
1554z 4.860MHz CW "VVV Q2M Q2M Q2M de NYZ NYZ QSA ? K" 319 report.
1730z 4.870MHz CW "V M8JF M8JF M8JF de RIS9 RIS9" 559 report.
1800z 4.904MHz CW "V WE3S WE3S WE3S de C5FT C5FT" 419 report.
1854z 4.904MHz CW "V QW2A QW2A QW2A de G5VD G5VD" Round Slip change from previous logging. 529 report.
1013z 6.874MHz CW "V M8JF M8JF M8JF de RIS9 RIS9" 539 report.
0845z 8.157MHz CW "V M8JF M8JF M8JF de RIS9 RIS9" 319-419 report.
Has any other M89 chaser heard the 9 or 10MHz transmissions this season? Please let me know as they have been elusive this way, time in GMT and frequency would be appreciated...Jack
