UNID 6925 AM (WKND)
« on: February 13, 2011, 0920 UTC »
2/13/11
6925 AM
Since approx 0830z, weak but steady carrier with occasional audio.  Heard what sounded like announcer chatter, possible ID.  Something about "Alabama", just a few other bits and pieces.

Via a remote tuner in Ohio:
0953z: Heard what sounded like Hot Rod Lincoln and clear WKND ID.  Lots of fading and noise (these PCR-1000 web tuners seem vulnerable to intermod and images).  But definitely sounds like WKND and Boomer with mention of Weird Al Yankovich song.
0956z: Boomer voice w/ WKND ID, song title sounded like "Big (?) Moolah", obscured by OTHR burst.  ID as "Radio Animal with Pirate Mike", I'm guessing this is relay of older WKND show.
1003z: Lost connection w/ remote tuner, but signal audible again here on my own receiver.
1038z: Faded out here, back on remote tuner (KY), program about negative influence of corporate controlled radio on music, segue with Prince "Pop Life"
1053z: Continuing w/ relay of classic WKND, ID w/ Blue Ridge Summit drop.  Still fading and peaking between remote tuner and mine at home.
