Seems like the LW band has been especially noisy this summer.  Have pretty much hung up the cans here until Autumn.

I agree and can see that with the DGPS stations (283.5 - 325 kHz). Most days are quite pathetic. However, last week(?) there were a couple of days of decent propagation. Propagation for June 30, 2018 was absolutely horrible.

Same in Australia, although winter here, distance factor lacking and noise level has been unusually high, even after two days of rain which normally quietens the band.

Hard to get anything over 1,700kms this way.  Usually winter is prime NDB time, worst winter I have experienced for some time, even up to 6MHz has been very poor distance wise.

Yaesu FT-1000D, Yaesu FT-2000D, ICOM IC-736 HF/50MHz, ICOM IC R75 & Tecsun S-2000 to 450 feet of wire, 27MHz 1/2 wave CB antenna converted to 21MHz & a multi band vertical of dubious reliability.

Log 'em while you can...  another half-dozen or so get turned off this year with the remainder terminated over the next two years.
