If the ladies don't find you handsome, at least let them find you handy.

Nearly every dipole I've ever owned has been soldered solidly,  then taped securely with the handyman's secret weapon, duct tape.

I've got an autographed roll by the man himself when he came through the region on a promotion tour about 20 years ago. I put it up there with meeting Richard Petty.

Ironically I have friend who is a big-game hunter. He went to Canada after trophy moose. He ripped the ligaments up in one of knees out when he and his guides were packing his trophy out. What did they use to patch him up to limp to the trail head? You got it, duct tape. Is there anything that stuff can't do?

My emt training says duck tape has its uses, but the best tape to seal coax and antennae and such is the cheap crap electric tape that turns to a sticky mass after some time in the sun. Self sealing!

And don't forget, if it ain't broke, you're not tryin'.
I was asked, yet another weird question, of how I would like to be buried, when I finally bite the big one. The answer was actually pretty easy. Face-down, like a certain historical figure in the late 1980's, (I will not mention who, but some of you will get it, and that's enough.) Why??? It would be a burial that will satisfy everyone: (1) My enemies will say that it will show me where to go. (2) On the same point, I can have my enemies kiss my butt. (3) It will temporarily give someone a place to park a bicycle. See??? A WIN / WIN for everyone.

The best episode was when he welded the front ends of 2 k cars together. All wheel steering and drive!
