Did you get a recording of it?
What was the repetition rate?

There's another "H" Morse beacon that appears on 4100.01 (usually heard in California at night) with 3 second repetition rate.

Sorry, didn't get a recording - but if I hear it again I will.

Heard it 3 separate occasions this afternoon, seemed to start at 20 minutes past the hour until about 50, then off.

Definately wasn't transmitting at 3 second intervals, more like 10-15 seconds.

Perhaps it was a ham.

At that hour of the afternoon, on 7 MHz, it would be west of The Rocky Mountains.
Propagation has been unusual for the past 2 days.
The Pt. Arguello and Idaho ionograms show that 7 MHz was good for about 250 to 500 miles (single hop) during the intervals when you report copying the H beacon.

Good recording.
The H repetition rate on that recording is every 5.77 seconds.

Was it on a different frequency than when you first reported it?

Yes, the first day I heard it was 7049.00 kHz - second day 7049.96 kHz - as per the waterfall display at KPH.

May have guessed wrong about the repetition rate on the first day, didn't think to time it accurately - both days were probably the same.

Fading in and out again today 10/10/18 1730Z 7049.96 kHz from Central OR - not hearing it on KPH yet, maybe later in the day.
