« on: December 18, 2018, 2109 UTC »
on 5140,0
2104 retro singer (It or Corsica?), 2106 next, fading down,
2110 quick ID, very weak, music, 2119 trace
2219 booming in, retro song, 2220 full ID, orchestra and singer in E, 2222 some fading
2224 talking (30's in USA movies and radio), 2225 quite retro way to sing, maybe from before 78rpm?, 2228 skit, 2229 funny singer, 2233 skit with Topolino in It, 2236 ID, roaring 20's,
2237 singer in G and barkings, 2240 ID, E version of "Elle avait une jambe de bois", etc...

0006 deep fade, but seems fading up again at 0008 with jazz

Maybe too close to WBCQ on the dial ?

Ray, I have tried to hear Charleston Radio almost every day here since you started posting and I have not even been lucky enough to hear a carrier. I will continue to monitor and maybe some day I will get lucky! I do not know of anyone on this side of the pond who has logged them directly.

Has anyone every received a QSL from Charleston Radio?
QSL's to poorbrookking >at< aol.com are greatly appreciated! All reception and postings using My radio, My antenna, and generally in real time(excluding posting of SSTV images!).

Hi Skipmuck, Tonight, I am able to detect a weak carrier of Charleston Radio 5140 khz on a few online Kiwi SDR receivers in Main, New Jersey, North Carolina, along the east coast of the US, but no audio.
Antennas: Multi-band doublet for 80 to 10m HF and vertical groundplane
RX: Kenwood R-2000
QTH: Northern England

Thanks Ether Hacker!  :) I guess there may be hope for us East Coasters here in the US! I will keep checking and hopefully I can hear some audio some day when propagation is favorable!

Is Charleston still on? I am getting a very weak carrier as of 0039 UTC! Intermittent, but clearly a carrier! Hey...it's a start!  :)
