Dead Cat Radio 6925 USB
« on: September 16, 2008, 0558 UTC »
Dead Cat Radio, 9/16/08, 6925 USB, 0114-0149 UTC.  Feline themed music: Simon and Garfunkel "At the Zoo", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", Dire Straits "Lions", other.  Felix the Cat theme song, Elmer Fudd singing "Kill da wabbit!", Duke Nukem "I've got balls of steel!"  Jimmy Buffett "Smart Woman", Warren Zevon, Belinda Carlisle "Mad About You", Blondie "Hanging On the Telephone" (distortion in music partway thru, like VFO nudged toward 6924.7).  Female DCR voice ID at 0145z, male voice ID at 0149z - "Meow", "Rowrrr!", screeching tires and braking sounds, male voice DCR ID, then off.  SINPO - 33233, good signal, thin mid-rangy audio, heavy static crashes and some ute noise, fading between S2-S8. Occasional het from drifty carrier during parts of show, seemed centered around 6925.5.  (N. Central TX)

Second show from DCR, 6925 USB (drifty carrier occasionally audible, seemed like a different station, tho', since DCR audio was stable), 0300-0330 UTC: Several Jimmy Buffett songs including "Living and Dying in 3/4 Time", "Captain America", "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes", other parrot head music.  Belinda Carlisle "Heaven is a Place on Earth".  CW ID (thx, Zane, for ID), Duke Nukem "I've got balls of steel!".  SINPO - 34322, occasional S8 peaks, lots of fading, occasional drifting carrier around 6925.5, presumably another station since DCR signal didn't drift.  (N. Central TX - Palstar R30C with 25' outdoor random magnet wire.)
