When I checked 6230 yesterday, all I could hear was a foreign broadcaster. No Coast FM.

You were in the skip zone, not just near the TX station, and not far enough to get the sky wave. The skip zone is smaller on the middle of the day, don't wait the end of afternoon to try the Irish based stations. Also early in the evening the channel can be occupied by far away stations (China, Australian weather station). A receiver with choice of mode: AM or LSB or USB can help.

I was able to hear LHH who transmit from roughly the same area as Coast.

Well, there was no QRM on 6205, but on 6230 there were the Chinese or Korean radio war and the Australian weather station, and at times the Scottish fishermen.
Even from the same/almost same TX site, the antenna height or orientation can be different, with different results. Add QRM to that, enough explanation I think.

Edit : the TX on 6230 seems also at reduced power for a few days now
