Captain Ron? 6930USB
« on: October 08, 2011, 0211 UTC »
I didn't wait for an ID but it sounds like the good Captain. On a research vessel tonight, all alone. Looking at the Southern Cross. Into an AC/DC tune. Strong S-5 signal, great audio for SSB.
Please QSL to MaplRadio@gmail.com

Next weeks contest: guess how many Volkswagons can fit in Joy Behars mouth. I pick five.

If Rosie O'Donnell jumps in the water Rosie doesn't get wet, the water gets ugly.

10/8/11, 6930 USB
0214z: Heard partial ID, does sound like Captain Ron or Red Mercury but have heard only partial ID so far.  Mentioned "mercury... but not Red Mercury", talking about free speech, something about southern cross.  Very heavy regional t-storm crashes tonight.
0218z: AC/DC
SINPO=33232, fair peaks but heavy QRN and local RFI making it tough to copy IDs clearly.

Red Mercury, 6930U, 0159+, 10.8.11.  Over modulated music, talk by DJ - hanging out by himself playing music on the ocean as far away as you can get look'in at the Southern Cross ... several other mentions of the Southern Cross, AC / DC, 0212 more talk w/ mention of cold night ... redmercurylab.@gmail.com

Fair with fading.
