NDB SPP San ANdres Columbia
« on: October 22, 2011, 0000 UTC »
;D  Nice steady signal from Colombia NDB callsign SPP at 2345 UTC 385 Khz.
Many other NDB loggings this evening using a 30 foot long wire laying on the
ground with a shack preamp.

Easy pickings as many signals rolling in for any of you who like to log airport
beacons.  ;)

Cheers!

136' random wire for general HF,
Winradio Excalibur G31 & Kenwood TS-590

Peace!

Nice catch! I used to dx the NDB's when I was trying to learn CW. Too bad so many of them have gone silent over the past decade.

I may have to tune down that way to see what's up.

I was getting ready to add a few turns to my homemade MW loop in the morning to get down in the LF range, cmradio.

BTW,do your homemade loops have tendency to fall over and smack you in the head,or is that just a result of my fine antenna building skills?

Let's just say, "AUUUUGH! Mine FOOT!" :D :D :D

I make them a fairly large, round stand to sit in.... or in the case of my LF loop, clamp it in the Workmate ;)

Peace!
