Hearing it in GA too. I have some blob of noise at 6944, and thought it was related to that. But it does sound like someone playing with feedback.

Hi,  I had started a post at:

   http://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,5389.msg12118.html

Seemed like this was definitely an "other"

It's back again 10/27/11 2200z S8-S9 in NH, here's an audio clip...

Probably does belong in " Other" . I was listening to it for a while, then came inside for dinner. It does have a calming effect, kinda like whale music.  Perhaps some sort of alien pirate radio?? Thought maybe it was a pirate just playing around.

Still hearing it here too in southern ontario canada on lsb, random sounds rising and falling.  Also on 6944mhz lsb someone who sounds like they are whistling.

Have heard the same here for a few hours tonight.  Sounds like the microphone feedback theory described in other logs.  Also heard it switch to some sort of data for awhile, but didn't note the time.  Dunno if it's an inadvertent feedback loop or a deliberate place marker to chase away rascally pirates and pesques.

It's been on the SDR waterfall for much of the day here.  Someone's asleep at the wheel.
