TCS Shortwave Relay Network via High Plains Relay Service
« on: October 29, 2011, 2355 UTC »
10/29/2011, *2353 UTC

6925 kHz USB

Was sitting on frequency, when strangely the Radical's voice began to seep through with an old promo that I have not recently distributed. WTF? LOL

Then announcement "High Plains Relay Service broadcasting from the middle of nowhere", then into "The Crystal Ship"- Doors, and the TCS program.

Now peaking around S-7, SINPO=34443

'Strange Days'- Doors
'My eyes have seen you' Doors
'We could be so good together' Doors

'TCS Shortwave Relay Network' ID at 0005 UTC.

"Never trust a puppet" song at 0023 UTC.

0030 UTC-  'Shots from the Port Side'-  Radical expresses disappointment with Obama's lack of progressive backbone, and says 'time to stand and fight, Obama!'  Says Obama's attempts at 'compromise with Republicans' similar to faith of 'snake handlers' who keep practicing after being bit.

Sounds real good for USB!

Signal seems to be weakening some here at 0043, during Metallica's "Master of Puppets".

My thanks to all you listeners for these "100% sock-puppet free loggings"!

Listeners may request eQSL from me for the program, at tcsshortwave@gmail.com,
please at least copypaste your loggings and time.

10/29/11, 6925 USB, 2353z: Heard TCS relay fire up with the strongest signal I've heard so far for this program.  Doors "The Crystal Ship" intro, ID for TCS Shortwave Relay Network, Juliana Montana standard TCS ID, Donner Pass Family BBQ spoof ad.
0012z: A very sober recitation of Ramones "Psycho Therapy" dedicated to "Commander" somebody... sounded more like Murphy than bunny?  Not sure I heard correctly.
0020z: Sounded like announcer reading letters from listeners.
0023z: "Never trust a puppet" song.
0030z: Radical's political commentary "Shots From the Port Side"
0035z: Yosemite Sam bit, TCS ID
0045z: My metal-fu is weak, but I think this is Metallica "Master of Puppets"
0050z: Quint's "Spanish Ladies" song, Ramones, sounds like wrap-up.
0056z: Sounds like same op fired up another show immediately after TCS program.  Still very good signal, somewhat deeper fades.  Van Hagar "Top of the World"
0100z: Dead air or off after VH song.  Some very weak signal or whistling in background

Local RFI level is fairly high tonight but this signal is punching through even with the Palstar's attenuator kicked in to reduce noise.

SINPO=43344, one of the best signals I've heard in months.  Actually got stronger after first 30 minutes.

Off-air recording of nearly complete show: http://www.mediafire.com/?m6x40sox6ejnoom
Note - that's a temporary link, good for only a few days.  I'll add it to my Internet Archives collection later.  It's a 60-minute mp3 at 64 kbps/32 kHz, a ginormous 28 MB, but I recorded at a high rate in case I planned to use hiss/noise reduction later.

Does HPRS have any contact info, or all through TCS?

Hearing someone trying to sing now, with people laughing in the background.  Wish it was coming in clearer so I could understand the words though.  Here in southern ontario canada.  Waiting for a new antenna that I hope will help.

Actually coming in better now, heard the crystal ship ID and listening still...

They probably will, but I have nothing 'official' as of yet.

Thanx, John.  Still a bit weak, but very very very clear.  Just caught the end of one of my faves:  Ozzy Fudd 'Kill the Wabbit,' lol!
I'm on europirate chatroom, too, so trying to juggle a few things at once.  FRC coming soon!

Monologue by "The Radical" at 0035z. Good S9+10 signal.
