Not sure how long he's been on, but I found him when I tuned to this frequency at this time. Usual spiel in progress.

June 11, noted YHWH, on 7480 kHz., started at *0322 UTC; steady, fair reception through 0420, when
started going downhill till unusable by 0430; 0410, gave the usual ten commandments; 0421, "shalom";
the usual anti-Christian/Catholic/Muslim/Mormon/Jesus/etc. recording.

Hello Ron,
I noticed your location and I happened to be on the beach there 2 yrs back. Of course I brought my 1o meter anytone. I heard some signals that I don't normally hear on 10 meters, a roar of activity. I haven't heard that type of signal before, it was like a noise floor of stations none of the stations stood out. I guess the signals were coming over the water from Mexico and that made the difference, do you get that sort of reception often?

Hi Leonard,

My SWLing is always done at the beach. Just too much RFI around the house. The beach is not far
from my home in Monterey. The listening at the beach is always quiet! The ocean and sand seem to
enhance my SW reception. Is an ideal situation for me, as once the sun comes up, I also have a nice
view to watch.

A picture of my beach listening post - http://bit.ly/2EUiKw8 . Along the top of the wooden fence, I string
out 100 feet of wire for my antenna to the Etón E1.

Funny, thats somewhere very near to where i was. we like to go up to monterey and I drive my chevy van. I was on the radio, talked to a local in and I believe he lived in van. he described something about his van not being desirable to the neighbor hood.  I was scanning around and the ground skip I believe sounded like the sound of fairgrounds far away. I know thats an odd way to describe conditions, but I don't come to the oceans edge to monitor.   I can get the idea of setting up a station,interesting, hopefully the ambient noise isn't a factor to listening.
